“Chicago Believes,” the July 14th event in Millennium Park, marked the premiere of “I Will Stand,” a song that may well become the anthem of Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The lyrics, inspired by the efforts of Chicago’s athletes, were written by John Stoddart, Nolan Williams Jr. and Rodrick Dixon. The song was composed by Stoddart in collaboration with Fred Nelson III and Larry Pecorella and expresses the athlete’s joyful journey through struggle to victory.

“I Will Stand” is proudly performed by Chicago’s own Rodrick Dixon and Alfreda Burke.
